Today Nate, Finley and I had to go over to Nate’s National Guard Unit to set up and get ready for the small send-off ceremony taking place tomorrow. We took Finley’s walker along since the Drill Floor would be one big wide open space for Finley to cruise around. He is moving pretty good in the walker these days but our house doesn’t have much fluid space for him to move in due to having carpet in the the living room. Finley enjoyed it,though he seemed to always go toward the rugs or grates in the floor he would get stuck on… all that open space and you travel towards the sticky spots? Oh well. He had a good day while we busily tried to pull this thing together (it was short notice to have this event). The soldiers in Nate’s Company (as well as Nate) are all being scattered through out the state with different units of the 32nd IBCT for this deployment- so they are not actually deploying as a unit. The Battalion Commander wanted the unit to have a little community send off anyway. Hopefully we will have some pictures to share tomorrow from that.
Sounds like fun! When is the last day Nate will be around? Doing anything fun for V-day?
