Nate arrived home on Friday afternoon around 1:30pm. Finley and I were thrilled to see him and have him home with us. Can I just tell you how excited and happy Finley was to see his daddy? That little boy is a daddy's boy... making it that much harder for Nate to have to leave him. We decided that I could dress up in a top hat and tails an tap dance and Finley would just smile at me... all Nate has to do is look at Finley and say "boo" and he cracks up like it's the funniest thing he's seen ever. The two of them are just from the same mold. Nate and I just have to laugh at this. I don't mind at all that Finley is infatuated with Nate, I just hope I can keep him happy for the next year with phone calls from Nate, videos and pictures! .
Anyway... like things would go Finley came down with my nasty cold (which I was actually feeling better by Friday) on Friday right after Nate came home. Finley ended up falling asleep on the couch while Nate was playing with him and I was making dinner . Hmmmm... our child doesn't just fall asleep during the day... ever! Yep, 102 degree fever. He was snarfling and coughing then later and the next day (Saturday) Finley actually took a 4 hour nap during the day. That is truly unheard of. I have a child that doesn't nap. He sleeps all night but doesn't nap. I think I checked on him 17 times during the 4 hour nap to make sure was ok. A little Tylenol went a long way with Finley because he was feeling and acting much better by Sunday. The thing is... all through the cold and fevers he still played and giggled and practiced crawling and all the stuff he normally does. He was a little crabby but Finley tends to have a crabby spell every day at some time. The only true sick indicator was that he was sleepy!!
Well, we had a fun, relaxed Superbowl Sunday. I just made Nate's favorite Italian Beef Sandwichs and my sister came over for a bit and we kind of watched the game but more just had it on and played with Finley etc. Then it happend. The cold got Nate...
So here we are Monday just relaxing, hoping the cold doesn't take Nate down as bad as it took Finley and I out. Nate has to report back up at Camp Douglas on Wednesday morning until the weekend. We are pretty much just spending tonight and tomorrow doing more relaxing, playing and maybe a few things around the house.

poor Finley. I'm thinking of you all as I know it is so hard to soak it up in such a small amount of time. Just keep remembering..."this too shall pass".
