To Be or Not to Be... Sick?

I took Finley to the Dr. today to check his ears. After the last 3 days of a extra crabby, inconsolable at times Finley I had had enough and thought there must be something else wrong besides just getting over his cold. He has been refusing baby food and cereal altogether and not even drinking as much formula. My suspicion was an ear infection. I called first thing this morning and they got me in for a 2:00pm which we just got back from. The doctor quickly determined that his ears were just fine. Finley did two mind boggling things while at the Dr., #1 he slept the entire way there and until we got into the exam room- I mean snoring slept. Why can't he nap like that at home, EVER? #2 He just smiled and gooed at the nurse and then the Doctor. After I dealt with Mr. Crabby Pants (even Nate dealt with crabbiness on Tuesday) I get this smiley, talkative child in the Doctor's office? I guess this is one of the parts about motherhood that is tough. Sometimes as the mom (or dad) you get the brunt of whatever is going on. I am so glad that the Doctor determined Finley to be just fine... other than getting over his cold and maybe some of the discomfort caused by teething. The Doc did check his teeth and said that it might be another month before we see anything emerge however confirmed with me that he probably has been teething for the last 3 months-in some kids it takes that long and they show all the signs months before the teeth come in. Also they did a weight on Finley for medication purposes and he is at 16.3lbs. He goes in for his 6 month appointment on the 19th so we will get more information then.
Finley is again sound asleep, snoring in his carrier right now. I haven't even unbuckled him. It's nice to finally have a little break at home! I just hope that my little guy feels better soon, soon enough to be happy and smiley all day!!
